## Our take

The Golf Pride MCC Plus4 is the daddy of all-rounder grips: a cord-and-rubber hybrid with a built-up lower hand (about 4.6 percent thicker), aimed at anyone who likes a chunkier bottom hand or just wants a grip that works rain or shine.

**What's great:** The clever bit is the Plus4 lower section, which bakes in roughly four extra wraps of tape so you get that taper-free, fatter feel without paying your pro to build them up by hand. I rate that a lot, it genuinely quietens lower-hand grip pressure and helps lads who fight a hook calm the face down. The corded top half is brilliant in the wet and clammy hands, and these things are tough, they hold their tack long after cheap soft grips have gone slick and shiny. The Align version with the ridge is also a proper aid if your hands wander at address.

**Worth knowing:** Not for everyone. If you love a firm, talky grip you might find the softer Plus4 rubber a bit mushy and muted down low, you lose some of that crisp feedback the original MCC gives you.
