## Our take

Electric trolleys solve fatigue and create two new problems: they cost four figures, and they turn walking your ball into managing a machine. The E-BOOST is MGI's answer to golfers who want neither. It's a push cart in feel — you steer it, you're connected to it — with a quiet brushless motor you engage at the press of a button when the ground goes uphill. On the flat you push as normal; on the climb to the 12th you let it pull.

That's a genuinely well-judged middle ground, and for a lot of walkers it's the right one. It's a fraction of the price of a full remote caddy like the [Zip Navigator AT](https://ifrothgolf.com/product/mgi-zip-navigator-at), and there's no remote to lose or learn. What it is not is a light push cart. MGI lists it at 11.35kg with the battery fitted (9.8kg without) and 77.6 x 44.2 x 32cm folded with the rear wheels inverted, and Golf Monthly found it heavier than almost every push cart it tested and not especially compact folded. Lift the battery out before it goes in the boot. The honest limit is that it isn't a substitute for a remote trolley if what you actually want is to walk empty-handed — you're still steering, and on a genuinely mountainous course the assist is help rather than a solution. Buy it if hills are the problem and pushing isn't.
