## Our take

Hi-Toe has always been the wedge with an answer to one specific problem — the ball sitting up in rough, or a face wide open on a short-sided pitch, where a conventional wedge runs out of grooves before it runs out of face. The tall profile and full-face grooves fixed that, and the trade was that you took the shape as it came. Hi-Toe 5 is the version that stops asking you to compromise: it's fully forged from soft carbon steel rather than cast, and the single sole has become a family of five grinds — ATS, ATV, ATX and ATW in the standard line, with ATC available through custom and the MyHi-Toe programme. ATS is the four-way cambered all-rounder, ATV pairs a concave sole with asymmetric bounce and a bevelled leading edge, ATX runs three independent sole ledges for steeper attack angles, and ATC is the low-bounce split sole for tight lies and people who like manipulating the face. The grooves are aggressively saw-milled across the full face, and the RAW finish plus TaylorMade's Spin Tread channelling is aimed at keeping spin honest out of wet grass. The caveat is unchanged from every Hi-Toe before it: the profile is genuinely tall, and if you look down at a wedge and want it to look like a Vokey, this will never stop looking odd. Retail availability is 3 September 2026.
