# Akshay Bhatia's WITB: a four-year-old driver and a broomstick

> A near-complete Callaway bag built around two things most tour set-ups don't have — a 2022 Rogue ST driver he won't part with, and a long putter.

**Setup verified:** 2026-07-13

Bhatia's bag is a near-complete Callaway set-up built around two things most tour bags don't have: a driver that is four years old, and a broomstick putter. He won the 2026 Arnold Palmer Invitational in a playoff with a Callaway Rogue ST head he has refused to give up, having briefly tried the newer Quantum Triple Diamond Max earlier in the season before going back.

The rest is a modern Callaway build with one outlier — a TaylorMade Qi10 3-wood, the only non-Callaway club in the bag. He also leans on Apex UW utility woods rather than hybrids or long irons, and the long Odyssey Jailbird has drawn recurring, unfounded anchoring chatter.

## Notes

The headline story is what hasn't changed: a Callaway Rogue ST driver dating to 2022 that survived a 2026 flirtation with the Quantum Triple Diamond Max.

Putter head has moved around within the Jailbird family — Jailbird 1/2 Ball early in 2026, Jailbird 380 for the Arnold Palmer Invitational win. The broomstick length is the constant.

He builds the top of the bag with Apex UW utility woods instead of hybrids, with a 22° X Forged UT as the course-dependent alternative.

## FAQ

### What driver does Akshay Bhatia use?

A Callaway Rogue ST with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft — a head from the 2022 generation, making it one of the oldest drivers in play on the PGA Tour. He tried the newer Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max in early 2026 and went back to the Rogue ST.

### What ball does Akshay Bhatia play?

The Callaway Chrome Tour, the brand's core tour ball.

### Why does Akshay Bhatia use a broomstick putter?

Bhatia moved to the long Odyssey Jailbird before his first PGA Tour win and has stuck with it, using a split-hand grip with the top hand held against the chest rather than anchored to it. Anchoring the club to the body has been against the rules since 2016, and his method is legal — the accusations that resurface after his wins are unfounded.
