# Miles Russell's WITB: a 17-year-old on a hybrid-shafted 4-iron

> TaylorMade signed him on an NIL deal at fifteen. Two years on, the only club in his bag that isn't current is a 5-wood — and his 4-iron has a graphite hybrid shaft in it.

**Setup verified:** 2026-09-05

Miles Russell has been on a TaylorMade NIL agreement since 2024, when he was fifteen, and the bag has been TaylorMade end to end ever since. He is committed to Florida State, the same school Charlie Woods is heading to — the two are close enough that Russell had Woods on his bag at US Open qualifying.

It is a more finished setup than most junior bags. Everything is current except one 2024 fairway wood, and the 4-iron is built with a graphite hybrid shaft rather than the steel running through the rest of the irons.

## Quick facts
- **Status:** Amateur — Florida State commit
- **Clubs:** TaylorMade (NIL)

## Notes

The relationship is an NIL agreement signed in 2024, not a staff contract, and the distinction matters while he is still an amateur heading to college golf. Some coverage calls him a TaylorMade staffer; that is wrong.

Unlike Charlie Woods, whose Scotty Cameron putter sits outside his TaylorMade deal, Russell's putter and ball are TaylorMade too — there is no club in this bag the agreement does not cover.
