Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

ifrothgolf("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately minimal — we don't sell anything directly on this site and we don't sell your data, ever.

What we collect

  • Your email address — only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. We use it to send the emails you signed up for, and nothing else.
  • Usage analytics— we use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are useful and which links get clicked. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects details such as the pages you view, roughly where you are (country/city), your device and browser, and how you arrived. We don't send it your name or email, and we use it only to improve the site. Vercel Analytics is cookie-free and aggregate-only.
  • Advertising data— we use Google AdSense to show ads, and any ad slots on our pages are filled by Google. Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to choose which ads you see and to measure them. We never receive your name, email or any other identifying detail from that process — see “Advertising” below.
  • We do notrun user accounts, take payments, or store payment details on this site. Purchases happen on the retailer's own site under their privacy policy.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show display ads. That helps pay for the writing alongside affiliate commissions, and it means a third party is involved in what you see:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits. How Google uses this data is explained at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Google uses cookies and similar technology to serve and measure ads. Where you've allowed it, those ads may be personalised — chosen using data about your browsing, including on other sites.
  • You can review and change what Google uses at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors at aboutads.info. Opting out means less relevant ads, not fewer.
  • A consent prompt for UK and EEA readers is not yet live on this site. Until it is, the surest way to control this is at source: turn personalisation off in Google Ad Settings or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. Those choices apply across sites, not just this one.
  • We don't pass Google your email address or anything else you've given us, and we have no say in which specific ad appears. Ads are always labelled, and we never let an advertiser influence a review or a ranking — see our disclosure.

Cookies & affiliate links

Beyond the advertising and analytics cookies described above, we use only the cookies needed to run the site. When you click an affiliate link (e.g. to Amazon or another retailer) and visit their site, theymay set cookies to attribute a purchase to us — this is how affiliate commissions work, and it's governed by that retailer's privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for how that works.

Third parties we rely on

  • Our email provider stores your email and sends the newsletter on our behalf.
  • Amazon Associates and other affiliate networks/retailers process any purchase you make and handle their own attribution cookies.
  • Google Analytics measures how the site is used, with its own cookies.
  • Our hosting provider (Vercel) serves the site and provides cookie-free, aggregate traffic stats.
  • Google AdSense selects, serves and measures the ads on our articles, using its own cookies and identifiers.

Each processes data under its own privacy policy. We share only what's necessary for these services to work, and never sell your data.

Your choices & rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any newsletter. You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete any personal data we hold (in practice, your email address) — just email us and we'll sort it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the UK/EU GDPR or the CCPA; we'll honour valid requests.
