The ifrothgolf review
In-depth reviewRead our full FootJoy x Harris Tweed Premiere Series Packard reviewThe final drop of FootJoy's 2026 Legends Series (III of III), released on 14 July 2026 ahead of the 154th Open Championship and made while supplies last. It takes the Premiere Series Packard — the heritage saddle silhouette FootJoy's tour staff wear more than any other — and swaps the saddle panels for genuine Harris Tweed herringbone: virgin wool, handwoven in Scotland's Outer Hebrides, and legally protected by its own act of parliament. Underneath, it debuts FootJoy's new ARCTrax outsole, with an anti-channeling design and flex-promoting concentric circles for tour-level traction, plus a padded, moulded Ortholite tongue and extra collar padding. Adam Scott, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young were seeded pairs before Birkdale. The honest read: this is a collector's shoe first — a beautifully made piece of Open-week theatre on a genuinely great last. If you just want the Packard for everyday golf, the standard leather version does the same job for less and never sells out.
