Golf in India

India's golf scene is growing fast, and its showpiece is the DLF Golf & Country Club near Delhi — a dramatic Gary Player championship course, host of the DP World Tour's Hero Indian Open.

Best Oct–Mar (cool, dry); Apr–Jun very hot; monsoon Jul–Sep

India is one of golf's fast-growing frontiers, and the course that best captures its ambition sits on the edge of Delhi: the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram. Its Gary Player championship layout — dramatic, water-and-quarry golf that reopened in 2015 — hosts the Hero Indian Open on the DP World Tour, and its adjoining nine was the first floodlit night-golf course in the country.

It's a private members' club rather than a resort, so overseas golfers usually play as a guest or through a golf-tour package — but it's a genuine tour-standard experience beside a major world capital. We start with DLF, India's flagship, and will build out from there.
