Japan is a golf culture unlike any other — famously immaculate courses, a ritual two-tier round with a lunch break, and caddies as standard — and it holds some genuinely world-class layouts. The most storied resort course is Kawana's Fuji Course on the Izu Peninsula, a 1936 Charles Alison clifftop design over Sagami Bay, long nicknamed 'the Pebble Beach of Japan'.
