Golf in UAE

Dubai is the Gulf's winter-sun golf capital — lush, floodlit, tour-standard desert courses led by Emirates Golf Club, home of the Dubai Desert Classic, a short flight from Europe.

Peak Nov–Mar (warm & dry); summer brutally hot — early-morning or night golf only

The UAE — and Dubai in particular — has become one of the world's most reliable winter-sun golf escapes: lush, immaculately kept desert courses wrapped around a modern city, a short direct flight from the UK and Europe, and warm and dry exactly when the northern game is frozen. Dubai alone packs in a cluster of tour-standard courses, several floodlit for night golf.

The standard-bearer is Emirates Golf Club, the first grass course in the Middle East and the long-time home of the Dubai Desert Classic. An hour down the road in Abu Dhabi, Yas Links — the region's first true links and a DP World Tour host — makes the natural second leg of a two-city Gulf trip.
