Callaway built the X Forged for the Japanese market and now sells it in the US as well. Each head is forged from a single piece of 1020 carbon steel for the soft feel and crisp sound better players look for, in a streamlined cavity-back shape with a compact profile, minimal offset and a thin topline. The sole is a tri-level design with bevelled leading and trailing edges, meant to keep the club moving cleanly through the turf. Callaway rates it low launch, mid-to-high spin, high workability and low forgiveness, which tells you who it is for: an elite ball striker who wants control over the flight rather than help on a miss. Sets run 4-iron to pitching wedge, right-handed only, with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 stiff shaft and a Lamkin Crossline grip as stock. Anyone who wants more help should look at Callaway's X Forged Max alongside it.
