The ifrothgolf review
The Studio Style Newport 2 is the flagship of Scotty Cameron's 2025 Studio Style line, available from 14 March 2025, and it takes the most familiar blade shape in golf in a softer direction. The headline change is a Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) face insert with chain-link face milling, paired with a slightly thicker topline that Scotty Cameron likens to the 2012 Select line, which tour players favoured for its softer sound and solid feel. Everything else is classic Newport 2: a head milled in the United States from 303 stainless steel, customisable tungsten sole weights, a refined tri-sole design and an I-beam plumbing neck that gives medium toe flow, so it suits a stroke with a natural arc. The red cherry dots are back, and it ships with a new Full Contact Slim grip, a custom shaft band and a headcover. Stock specs are 3.5 degrees of loft and a 70-degree lie in 33, 34 and 35 inches, with left-handed models available. The honest caveat is price: it costs well over twice what a good direct-to-consumer milled putter does, and what the money buys is the shape, the milling and the feel rather than a measurable performance edge.
