Splitting a set between two models used to be something a fitter did for you. Srixon now sells the split as a stock set: 4- to 6-iron in the ZXi5, 7-iron to pitching wedge in the ZXi7, with other combinations available to order as custom. This is the second-generation ZXi family, on sale from 16 October 2026, and it reuses the first generation's model names, so check you are looking at the new one. The two heads do different jobs. The ZXi5 long irons carry MainFrame iQ, a variable-thickness network of grooves, channels and notches milled into the back of the face so it flexes for more speed across a wider area. The ZXi7 short irons carry PureFrame iQ, a wider, thicker ridge of soft S15C steel forged behind the sweet spot to stiffen the impact zone and free up mass for higher MOI. Both are forged at Endo in Japan, both use Srixon's i-FORGED condensed forging inserts so the body can be made from softer steel, the long and mid irons carry a tungsten toe weight, and the Tour V.T. Sole is there to keep the club moving through the turf on a slightly heavy strike. Toplines are slightly thinner than the previous generation's. The honest caveat is who it suits: the ZXi7 is a players' iron rated low-to-mid on forgiveness by Srixon itself, so this set is for a reasonably consistent striker who wants help in the long irons, not for someone looking for maximum forgiveness through the bag.
