The ifrothgolf review
The MLM2XPRO is Rapsodo's first new launch monitor since the MLM2PRO, and it keeps the formula that made that unit popular: Doppler radar working alongside two cameras, so spin rate, spin axis, club path and angle of attack are measured rather than estimated. Rapsodo quotes 15 ball and club metrics, faster processing so the numbers appear the moment you swing, and a set of setup fixes that address the fiddliest part of using a mobile monitor: an upgraded adjustable tripod, LED alignment guidance, and battery and connectivity indicators on the unit. It works indoors and outdoors and moves between Rapsodo's mobile app, PC app and R-Cloud. The honest caveat is the membership. The hardware gives you the data, but the parts most people buy it for, 30,000-plus simulator courses with putting, Swing Replay with 240fps Impact Vision, and the Bag Mapping, Wedge Matrix and Strokes Gained practice tools, all require Rapsodo's Core membership, and the 4K course library needs a separate Studios membership. A 21-day Core trial is included, along with 12 RPT balls, so budget for the subscription before you compare it on hardware price alone.
