Chris Gotterup's WITB: three brands, three wins

A Ping driver, a TaylorMade mini driver and Bridgestone irons — Gotterup won three times in 2026 with a bag nobody's marketing department would have designed.

Chris Gotterup won the Sony Open, the WM Phoenix Open and the John Deere Classic in 2026, which puts him alongside Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark as the season's only three-time winners, and he did it with a bag split across three manufacturers.

The driver is a Ping G440 LST at 7.5 degrees — among the lowest-lofted heads in the field — sitting above a copper TaylorMade BRNR Mini and a set of Bridgestone 220 MB blades. golf.com noted he is the first player in seven years to win with Bridgestone irons.

The story of the bag

The long-iron slot is the one part of this bag nobody agrees on. The two winning-bag reports from the John Deere list nothing there; a September build adds a TaylorMade RSi TP UDI 1-iron, a 2014 club; another outlet puts a P770 3-iron in. Most likely it is course-dependent, so it is left out rather than pinned.

No source states whether he has contracts with Ping, TaylorMade or Bridgestone, or plays them unsigned — so this page does not claim either.
