Rose Zhang's WITB: the full Callaway bag
Zhang kept the Quantum driver and changed almost everything under it before the Solheim Cup — Quantum Max woods, Apex irons, Opus SP wedges. Every club, club by club.
By Jordan Hale · Equipment Writer
Rose Zhang is a full Callaway staffer, and the bag she played at the 2026 Solheim Cup is not the one she started the year with. The Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond driver (10.5°) survived the rebuild; almost everything beneath it turned over. She now carries a Quantum Max fairway wood, a pair of Quantum Max hybrids, Callaway Apex irons, Opus SP wedges and an Odyssey Double Wide mallet, with the Callaway Chrome Tour X ball.
The Elyte woods, the Japan-market X-Forged Star irons and the original Opus wedges that defined her early-2026 setup are all out — and the lofted 7-wood has gone with them, its job handed to a 21° hybrid. She took the new bag to Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, the Netherlands on 11–13 September as one of Angela Stanford's captain's picks, beating Céline Boutier 2 up in Sunday singles in a losing cause as Europe won the Cup back 15–13.

Driver
Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond
10.5° · Mitsubishi Diamana BB 53 R
The one club that came through the 2026 rebuild untouched — same head, same loft, same shaft.

Fairway wood
Callaway Quantum Max
16.5° · Mitsubishi Diamana BB 63 R
Replaces the Elyte 3-wood, and it is now the only fairway wood in the bag. We don't stock the Quantum Max fairway, so there's no buy link on this row.

Hybrids
Callaway Quantum Max
21° & 24° · KBS Tour Prototype Hybrid 75 R
In place of the Elyte 7-wood and the Paradym Ai Smoke hybrids. The 21° head covers the yardage the 7-wood used to, which is the more interesting half of this change: she has gone the opposite way to the tour-wide 7-wood trend.
- CallawayIrons
Irons
Callaway Apex
6-AW · KBS PGI 80
Out of the Japan-market X-Forged Star set. Sources name the Apex family but not which Apex model, so we don't link a product here — the lightweight graphite iron shafts are the part that carried over.

Wedges
54°.10S, 58°.10S · True Temper XP95 R300
Same lofts as before, new heads and new shafts: off the original Opus and off the Nippon 850GH.
- OdysseyPutter
Putter
Odyssey Ai-DUAL Double Wide DB
Mallet
Sources disagree on this one. Today's Golfer's September bag check has her in the Ai-DUAL; Golf Monthly's Solheim Cup putter round-up the same week still listed the older Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide. Same head shape, different generation — we name the newer model and deliberately leave the buy link off until it settles.
- CallawayGolf ball
Golf ball
Callaway Chrome Tour X
Down from the firmer Chrome Tour X+. The Chrome Tour X is a different ball from the standard Chrome Tour we stock, so this row is reference-only rather than a buy link for the wrong model.

The story of the bag
This is a wholesale rebuild, and it follows the pattern Callaway's staff have run all year: the Elyte metalwoods gave way to the Quantum equivalents and the Opus wedges to Opus SP, exactly as they did in Jeeno Thitikul's bag. What makes Zhang's different is that the irons moved too — most settled tour bags turn the metalwoods over on the release cycle and leave the scoring clubs alone.
The 7-wood is the change worth watching. The move across the women's game has been towards lofted fairway woods in place of long irons, and Zhang has quietly gone the other way: 21° is now a hybrid head rather than a fairway. Her long game is one fairway wood and two hybrids where it used to be two fairway woods and two hybrids.
One honest gap: the published lists account for thirteen clubs — driver, fairway wood, two hybrids, six irons from 6 to AW, two wedges and the putter. No outlet names the fourteenth, and we would rather leave the hole visible than invent a club to fill it.
Re-verified on 14 September 2026. Today's Golfer updated its Rose Zhang bag check on 8 September and its Solheim Cup round-up on 13 September, and both list the same rebuilt setup with shafts; Golf Monthly's Solheim driver list of 11 September independently confirms the Quantum Triple Diamond. National Club Golfer's December 2025 page and GolfWRX's December 2025 bag check are now superseded and are kept below as the record of what she played before.
Frequently asked
- What driver does Rose Zhang use?
- A Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond at 10.5° with a Mitsubishi Diamana BB 53 R shaft — the one club she kept through her 2026 rebuild.
- What ball does Rose Zhang play?
- The Callaway Chrome Tour X, having moved down from the firmer Chrome Tour X+.
- What putter does Rose Zhang use?
- An Odyssey Double Wide mallet. Today's Golfer's September 2026 bag check names the Ai-DUAL Double Wide DB, while Golf Monthly's Solheim Cup round-up the same week still had her in the older Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide, so the generation isn't settled.
- What irons does Rose Zhang play?
- Callaway Apex irons from 6-iron through approach wedge, on KBS PGI 80 shafts. She moved out of the Japan-market X-Forged Star set during 2026.
- Does Rose Zhang still carry a 7-wood?
- No. The Callaway Elyte 7-wood is out of the bag; she now covers that yardage with a 21° Callaway Quantum Max hybrid.
