Miyu Yamashita's WITB: the Srixon bag she refuses to change

Four LPGA wins in thirteen months, including a 257 that tied the lowest 72-hole total in tour history, then a Japanese major in a play-off three weeks later. Same fourteen clubs for all of it.

Miyu Yamashita plays Srixon metalwoods and irons, Cleveland wedges and a TaylorMade putter. She won the 2025 AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl in her rookie LPGA season, by two from Charley Hull and Minami Katsu — her first major and her first win outside Japan. In 2026 she added the Meijer LPGA Classic in June, beating Lottie Woad in a play-off, then the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton by nine shots with a 23-under 257 that tied the lowest 72-hole score in LPGA Tour history. On 13 September she won the Sony Japan Women's Pro Championship in a play-off, with the same bag she had in Canada.

The story of the bag

Four clubs cover everything above the 6-iron: two fairway woods at 15 and 18 degrees and two hybrids at 22 and 25. For a player who has won by nine shots that is an unusually top-heavy long game, and it is what lets her iron set start at the 6.

Srixon and Cleveland share a parent company, so the bag is effectively one supplier through thirteen clubs with a TaylorMade putter on the end. That putter is the tell: it is the slot tour players most often keep out of a contract.

The story of this bag is that it doesn't move. ALBA Net's winner's-gear piece from the Japan Women's Pro says the setting was unchanged from her CPKC win in August, and Golf Digest Online's per-event settings for both events match club for club. Her own reason for keeping the driver: she has used it for a long time, so it is the one she trusts most. The only changes since the 2025 AIG are a driver shaft (NX Green to NX Gold) and the 5-iron dropping out.

The old disagreement on this page is settled. Today's Golfer called the fairway woods and hybrids ZXi; golf.com said ZX Mk II. Golf Digest Online's 2026 settings and ALBA Net both list ZX Mk II, so the woods really are a generation behind the driver.
