Nico Echavarría's WITB: a Srixon bag with a driver in flux
Colombia's first Presidents Cup player is a Srixon staffer with unusual freedom — and three reputable sources have him in three different drivers this season.
By Jordan Hale · Equipment Writer
Nico Echavarría won the Cognizant Classic in March for his third PGA Tour title and became the first Colombian to play a Presidents Cup when he made the International team for Medinah.
He is a Srixon staffer, but only from the irons down. The woods have moved between TaylorMade, PXG and — if the most recent report is right — Titleist, and the driver head has been reported three different ways this season on one unchanging shaft.

Three sources, three heads: a Srixon ZXi prototype in March, a Titleist GTS2 in August, a Srixon ZXi LS prototype in September — all on the identical shaft. The shaft agreement suggests real head swaps rather than reporting errors, so this page names none of them.

The story of the bag
The driver is the story and the reason this page hedges. Every source this season agrees on 9 degrees and a Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 TX, and every source names a different head on the end of it — including a Titleist in the middle of a Srixon staffer's season. A shaft that never changes under heads that do is the signature of genuine testing, not of a misreport, so the slot is described rather than named.
Everything from the long irons down is settled: the ZXi5 into ZXi7 split, Cleveland RTZ wedges and the Z-Star Diamond are the same in all three reports.
Frequently asked
- What driver does Nico Echavarría use?
- That is genuinely unsettled. Reports this season have him in a Srixon ZXi prototype, a Titleist GTS2 and a Srixon ZXi LS prototype — all at 9 degrees on a Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 TX. The shaft has not changed; the head keeps doing so.
- What irons does Nico Echavarría play?
- Srixon ZXi5 in the 4 and 5, then ZXi7 from 6-iron to pitching wedge, with the 7-iron cut to 37 inches. These are the ZXi generation, not the newer ZXi RKT.
- Is Nico Echavarría a Srixon player?
- Yes, for the irons, wedges and ball, but with unusual freedom at the top of the bag — his woods have been reported as TaylorMade, PXG and Titleist during 2026.
- What did Nico Echavarría win in 2026?
- The Cognizant Classic in March, his third PGA Tour title, and he became the first Colombian to make a Presidents Cup team.
