Rory McIlroy's WITB: inside the 2026 bag

The Masters champion overhauled roughly half his bag for 2026. Here's every club, from the new Qi4D driver and the 3-wood he swapped twice to the MG5 wedges and the softer TP5 ball.

Rory McIlroy is a full TaylorMade staffer and 2026 was a big reset year — he changed something like seven of his 14 clubs. The new Qi4D driver leads it, with Qi4D fairway woods behind it and the fifth-generation MG5 wedges. The ball is the one he moved to a year earlier: the softer TP5, in place of the TP5x, from early 2025.

The 3-wood has been the restless slot. He won the Masters in April with an old Qi10, then put the Qi4D 3-wood back in at the Truist in May with a lighter front weight, and it is still there in September's lists. The irons are the constant: his familiar Rors Proto blades from 5 to 9 with a P760 four-iron on top.

The story of the bag

The 3-wood is the 2026 story. He started the year in a Qi4D 3-wood, went back to an old Qi10 because the new head had a slight left bias, and won the Masters with it. By the Truist in May he said the Qi10 felt more like a mini driver and didn't spin enough, so the Qi4D came back with the front weight cut from 9g to 7g. Today's Golfer's September list still has it.

The ball change is older than it looks. He moved from the TP5x to the softer TP5 before the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, after finding it launched lower and spun more on pitch shots. Add the new Qi4D driver and MG5 wedges and 2026 was one of Rory's bigger equipment resets in years.
