Russell Henley's WITB: the most stubbornly old bag on tour
A 2020 driver, a 2018 fairway and irons most tour pros would have replaced twice over — Henley's Titleist set-up is the strongest argument going that newest isn't best.
By Jordan Hale · Equipment Writer
Russell Henley wins with equipment most tour players would have retired years ago. He drives a Titleist TSi3 that launched in 2020, hits a Titleist TS3 fairway from 2018, and his 5-to-9 irons are the original 2019 Titleist T100 — a set he has kept in play through his recent run of wins. A Titleist Vokey SM11 wedge quartet and a Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 tour prototype complete a full Titleist and Scotty Cameron bag.
The one recent addition is the interesting part. A Titleist GTS3 7-wood at 21 degrees went into the bag only a couple of weeks before his 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge win, giving him a high, steep-landing long option and pushing his long iron count down to a single Titleist T250 4-iron. It is a bag built on trust rather than novelty.

Driver
Titleist TSi3
10° · Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 70 6.5 TX
A 2020 head he has declined to update through several Titleist driver generations.

3-wood
16.5° · Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 80 TX
Older again — a 2018 head. Because of the 16.5° loft some outlets call it a 4-wood, and golf.com lists this slot as a TSi3 rather than a TS3.

7-wood
Titleist GTS3
21° · Project X Denali Black 80 TX
By far the newest club in the bag, added roughly two weeks before his 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge win.

4-iron
Titleist T250
True Temper AMT Tour White X100
His only long iron, chosen for a touch more help than the T100 offers.

Irons
5-9 · True Temper AMT Tour White (5-6), True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue (7-9)
The first-generation 2019 T100. Sources differ on the 7-9 shaft flex, with some listing X100 and others S400.

Wedges
48.10F, 50.08F, 54.10S, 60.04T · True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue
A four-wedge set-up, which is why he carries only one long iron.

Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 Tour Prototype
Some listings write it as a Phantom X5 or a T5 tour prototype; all refer to the same Phantom-family mallet prototype.

The story of the bag
The 2026 change that mattered was a Titleist GTS3 7-wood, added shortly before the Charles Schwab Challenge and kept in play since.
Driver, fairway and irons are all several generations old — Henley is one of the clearest examples on tour of a player who only changes when he has a reason to.
Four Vokey SM11 wedges (48/50/54/60) squeeze the top of his bag down to a single T250 4-iron.
