Charlie Woods's WITB: the bag behind the TaylorMade deal

TaylorMade signed the 17-year-old in September. Here is every club he played that week — including the same P7TW blades his father games, and the one club in the bag that is not a TaylorMade.

Charlie Woods signed an NIL agreement with TaylorMade on 4 September 2026, announced while he was playing the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. It covers the driver, the fairway woods, the irons, the wedges and the ball — which is most of a bag, but not the whole one.

The setup itself is closer to his father's than you might expect for a 17-year-old: P7TW blades from 5-iron down, no gap wedge, and a Scotty Cameron 009 prototype that keeps a Titleist putter in an otherwise TaylorMade bag.

The story of the bag

The deal is an NIL agreement, not a staff contract, and the difference matters at his age: it covers name, image and likeness while he keeps his amateur eligibility for Florida State in 2027. Some coverage has called him a TaylorMade staffer. He is not one.

Two clubs from his summer bag are missing from the September lists without any source saying they came out. A TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini appeared in June and July lists in place of a 3-wood — never alongside one — so the likeliest read is that he swaps the two. A P770 3-iron driving iron was in both July lists and in none of the September ones.

This bag will date faster than most on this page. Junior schedules churn equipment quickly and he starts at Florida State in 2027, so treat anything here as a September 2026 snapshot rather than a settled setup.

Frequently asked

What driver does Charlie Woods use?
A TaylorMade Qi4D with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6 X shaft. The September lists put it at 10.5 degrees; he played a 9-degree head at the US Junior Amateur in July.
Does Charlie Woods use the same clubs as Tiger Woods?
Partly. He plays the same TaylorMade P7TW blades from 5-iron to pitching wedge and, like his father, carries no gap wedge. The rest differs — his woods are current Qi4D heads and his putter is a Scotty Cameron 009 prototype.
Is Charlie Woods sponsored by TaylorMade?
He signed an NIL agreement with TaylorMade on 4 September 2026 covering his driver, fairway woods, irons, wedges and ball. It is an NIL deal rather than a tour staff contract, and it leaves his putter — a Scotty Cameron — outside it.
What golf ball does Charlie Woods play?
The TaylorMade TP5x. Most lists say the TP5x, though a couple credit him with the softer TP5.
What wedges does Charlie Woods carry?
TaylorMade MG5 wedges at 54 degrees in the TW grind and 60 degrees, on Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts.
