Linn Grant's WITB: the full Ping bag that went 4-0-0

Grant won all four of her matches at Bernardus with a bag that is Ping from driver to putter — and irons two generations behind the rest of it. Every club, club by club.

Linn Grant plays Ping everywhere except the ball. The driver is a G430 LST at 9.25°, the fairway wood a G440 Max at 17°, the hybrids a pair of G440s at 20° and 23°, the wedges s259s at 50°, 56° and 60°, and the putter a PLD. The ball is a Titleist Pro V1. The odd club out is the iron set: Ping i210s, a model from 2018.

She went 4-0-0 at the 2026 Solheim Cup, one of two players on either team to win every match she played, as Europe took the Cup back 15–13 at Bernardus. Grant has two LPGA wins — the 2023 Dana Open and The Annika in November 2025 — and in 2022 became the first woman to win a DP World Tour event, at the mixed-gender Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.

  • Ping G430 LST

    Driver

    Ping G430 LST

    9.25° · Fujikura Speeder TR 757

A generation behind Ping's current G440 family, and an unusual 9.25° setting. Retired, so no CTA.

  • Ping G440 Max Fairway Wood

    Fairway wood

    Ping G440 Max

    17° · Graphite Design Tour AD CQ 6 S

Current, and stronger than a standard 5-wood. The only fairway wood in the bag.

  • Ping G440 Hybrid

    Hybrids

    Ping G440 Hybrid

    20° & 23° · Graphite Design Tour AD HY 65 S

Two hybrids in place of the long irons her i210 set no longer covers.

  • Ping i210 Irons

    Irons

    Ping i210

    5-PW · True Temper Dynamic Gold XP 95 S300

The oldest thing in the bag by a wide margin — i210 is a 2018 model, and Ping has since released the i230 and the i240. Two full generations behind the metalwoods above them.

  • Ping S259

    Wedges

    Ping s259

    50°S, 56°S, 60°H · True Temper Dynamic Gold XP 95 S300

Three grinds across three lofts, on the same shaft as the irons.

  • PingPutter

    Ping PLD

    Milled

Sources disagree on the model. Today's Golfer lists two — a PLD Ally Blue and a PLD Prime Tyne — while Golf Monthly and National Club Golfer both name a custom PLD Prime Tyne. We name the family and leave the buy link off until it settles.

  • Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls (Dozen)

    Titleist Pro V1

The only non-Ping item in the bag.

The story of the bag

The i210s are the story. Grant is a contracted Ping staffer with current metalwoods and current wedges, and she has left an eight-year-old iron model in the bag through two replacement cycles. Tour players change irons less often than anything else, but two generations is a long hold — and it did not stop her winning every match she played at Bernardus.

Her long game is one fairway wood and two hybrids. The 17° G440 Max is strong for a 5-wood, and the 20° hybrid picks up immediately below it, so there is no conventional 3-wood in the bag at all.

We have not printed a putter model. Today's Golfer's 11 September check lists two different PLD heads without saying which is in play; the other outlets name only the Prime Tyne. Naming one would be a guess.
