Maja Stark's WITB: the Ping staffer with a TaylorMade putter
Stark's contract covers the clubs. It does not cover the putter, the lob wedge or the ball — all three come from somewhere else. Every club, club by club.
By Jordan Hale · Equipment Writer
Maja Stark plays Ping through the bag: a G440 K driver at 9°, a G430 Max fairway at 15°, a G430 hybrid at 22°, a two-model iron set and s159 wedges at 50° and 54°. Then it stops. The lob wedge is a Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks at 58°, the putter is a TaylorMade Spider Tour V, and the ball is a Titleist Pro V1.
Stark won the 2025 U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills by two shots, becoming the third Swedish woman to take the title after Annika Sörenstam and Liselotte Neumann. Her 2026 included a T8 at the U.S. Women's Open and a T10 at Evian, and Bernardus was her third Solheim Cup — she chipped in for eagle on the par-4 8th in Saturday foursomes alongside Linn Grant as Europe went on to win 15–13.

Maja Stark's bag

Driver
9° · Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Orange 60 S
The K is Ping's highest-MOI head — the draw-biased, most forgiving model in the G440 family, which is an unusual choice for a major champion.

Fairway wood
15° · Graphite Design Tour AD-XC 6 S
A generation behind the driver above it, and the only fairway wood in the bag.

Long iron
4-iron
A single i240 4-iron sitting on top of a different set — the cavity-back head is easier to launch than the Blueprint S below it.

Irons
5-PW · Ping AWT S
Ping's compact players' iron. A blended set like this — one forgiving long iron, then the small heads — is standard practice on tour but rarely this cleanly split.

Wedge
Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks
58°.04L · Nippon Modus 3 105
WedgeWorks is Vokey's custom-order shop rather than a retail line, so there's no page to link and no CTA on this row. The 04L is a very low-bounce grind.

The story of the bag
Three clubs sit outside the Ping script, and they are the three places where players are most often left free to choose: putter, lob wedge and ball. The lob wedge is the telling one — she plays Ping s159s at 50° and 54° and then goes to a Vokey WedgeWorks 04L at 58°, a grind with almost no bounce, which is a fitting decision rather than a branding one.
The G440 K is the other surprise. It is the most forgiving and most draw-biased head Ping makes, marketed at golfers fighting a slice — not the club you would expect under a U.S. Women's Open champion. Lauren Coughlin plays the same head.
The iron set is split across two models: a single i240 4-iron, then Blueprint S from the 5-iron down. Blueprint S is a small, low-offset head, and the i240 above it does the job a hybrid does in most bags.
